Tom’s son, Gene, took on the exciting role of technician and played a vital role in expanding our services to the Gainesville and Ocala areas, bringing our expertise to more homeowners and businesses across Central Florida.
In 1995, Tom’s youngest son, Terry, began working alongside his father while attending the University of Florida. After graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction and minors in Business, Terry gained valuable experience with commercial and residential builders and even owned his own construction company in Jacksonville — all while staying deeply involved in the family garage door company. He always cherished the hands-on experience and customer-first values he learned from his dad.
When Tom and Lawana decided to retire, Terry was honored to take the reins and continue the legacy they built. Under his leadership, Affordable Garage Door Services has remained the go-to garage door company for homeowners, builders, and project managers throughout Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Palm Coast, Gainesville, Alachua County, Ocala, and The Villages.
Today, the Frey family tradition continues stronger than ever. Terry’s wife, Kimberly, and their four daughters have joined the team, bringing fresh energy while upholding the same core values of integrity and honest service that started in 1991. Even in retirement, Tom still stops by to share his decades of wisdom whenever he can.
